How this is worked out

The Max meter gains one point per attack against a boss with that much health, so a short fast move reaches the Max Phase sooner than a powerful one. The Max Attack takes the type of your FAST move — except on a Gigantamax, which uses its species' own G-Max move. The ranking is damage per second of a full cycle (charge plus unleash), not raid DPS.
