The website at a glance: tools and first steps
This website is for those of us who play Pokémon GO on Menorca. Part of what you see updates itself (raids, bosses, moves, events); the other part is yours (medals, goals, Pokédex, collection). Note that many tools come alive once you register your Pokémon. That is why this guide ends with a suggested order of first steps.
First of all
- Create your account with an email and password and confirm the code sent to your inbox.
- Verify your profile: upload a screenshot of the "YOU" tab in Pokémon GO. We read name, team and level so the community is made of real people. You cannot use the app without this step.
- It sends you to New around here?, a two-minute walkthrough you can reopen any time.
Your command centre
- My panel: the first thing you see. Goals closest to completion, upcoming meetups and quick actions.
- Notifications: what happened while you were away. There are no push alerts: just this inbox.
- My profile: your details, team, level and preferences.
Explore the island (needs nothing first)
- Map: gyms, PokéStops and power spots of Menorca. It shows one layer at a time; tap a gym for its page.
- Gyms: a list with search and a town filter. Each page has a photo, directions and your medal. When you set it we ask for a screenshot of the gym to verify it.
- My contributions: a gym is missing or something is wrong? Propose the change and we review it.
Community (no Pokémon needed either)
- Meetups: join the community's or propose your own. Official ones go through Campfire first: see Campfire step by step.
- Events: the game's calendar in Menorca time, with meetups alongside. There is a calendar feed you can subscribe to from your phone.
- Rankings: the island's leaderboard by gym points, medals and Pokédex.
- Guides & tips: what we have learnt by playing.
Progress
- Goals: pick what you aim for (a gym medal, a Pokémon…) and the app keeps track. When you get it, press "Done!".
- Pokédex: tick what you have registered, form by form: shiny, shadow, Gigantamax, XXL… If you miss a shadow, we tell you which Rocket trainer drops it.
Tools that depend on your collection
These will not tell you anything useful until you add Pokémon:
- My collection: add the specific Pokémon you fight with, with their moves and IVs. It is the basis of everything below.
- Raids: the bosses active right now. With your collection it tells you which of YOUR Pokémon to bring, not the world's best in general.
- Energy nodes: Max Battle bosses and which three Pokémon beat them.
- Team GO Rocket: who you fight, what they bring and which Shadow Pokémon you win.
- PvP: the IV range of your collection for Great, Ultra and Master League, with the moveset the current meta recommends (PvPoke data).
- Improvement plan: of everything you could do now, what would improve your account most, based on the game's best attackers and what you lack.
- Trades: what you need is worked out from your Pokédex; you declare what you want or offer. Opt-in: until you enable it you appear in nobody's matches, and others never see your whole Pokédex. The website has no chat: it only tells you who may have something you want.
With no Pokémon registered these screens work as general reference (which bosses, which moves) but are not personalised.
Recommended first steps
- Create your account and verify your profile.
- Set your first gym and a goal (gym medal): the fastest way to see your panel come alive.
- Fill in your Pokédex with what you already own: it unlocks Trades, shadow hints and the ranking.
- Add your best Pokémon in My collection, starting with those you use in raids and PvP. You do not need everything: your usual ones already make a difference.
- Check your Improvement plan to know where to spend candy and dust.
- Join a meetup and meet the island's players.
Something off? Propose the fix from My contributions.
